Associate Director of Member Resources, Crew Southwest

Job Title: Associate Director of Member Resources
Location: Flagstaff, AZ
ACE Department/Division: CREW, Southwest Arizona
Status: Regular Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt)
Schedule/Hours: Flexible schedule (Monday- Friday); Full-time, 40 hours/week with additional hours as needed. Some evening hours may be occasionally required.
Reports to: Division Director, ACE Southwest
Direct Reports: Member Support Coordinators (3), Provisions & Logistics Coordinator (1)
Travel: Less than 10%
Position Summary:
ACE's Southwest Associate Director of Member Resources will work under the direction of the Southwest Director to manage the member support team, develop innovative recruitment and outreach strategies and ensure division compliance with all AmeriCorps regulations. This position will also manage and develop policies and procedures to support members through their time with ACE by helping to develop professional development opportunities, ensuring that all housing is well managed and working with the SWA Director and Associate Director of Operations to improve member experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Recruitment Strategies:
- Lead and manage the Member Support Team.
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Operations to understand the required number of corps members.
- Maintain and improve current recruitment strategies. Develop new strategies to increase the number of applicants to the program.
AmeriCorps Compliance:
- Ensure that all AmeriCorps regulations are complied with, including: during the on-boarding process, throughout the term of service, and during exiting and post service.
- Lead ACE Southwest's efforts on reporting on the various AmeriCorps grants awarded to the organization.
Housing Management:
- Ensure a safe, efficient management of ACE's housing to ensure that all facilities are kept in a safe and orderly manner.
Professional Development of Members:
- Work with the Member Support Coordinators (MSCs) to develop professional development opportunities to enhance member experience and provide a variety of education outside of their field experience.
- Work with the MSCs to meet with members following up on their field feedback to develop members in a variety of professional areas to enhance their success in the professional world post ACE.
Community Outreach:
- Ensure ACE representation at local events to promote the core values of ACE.
- Develop strategies to increase ACE's visibility across the Southwest.
- Enhance ACE's relationships with local schools, colleges and non-profits to provide further opportunities for current and future corps members.
- Meet with and develop new relationships in the community that can create professional development opportunities for our members.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Practical knowledge of or experience with similar corps-oriented, non-profit organizations, land-based federal agencies such as the Department of Interior or other federal or state agencies.
- Knowledge of the federal grants and agreements processes preferable as is contract experience.
- Willingness and ability to communicate and coordinate internally within ACE and with external stakeholders and partners
- Willingness to travel, work occasional weekends and attend community events.
- Strong skills in interpersonal communication, public speaking, organization, management, conflict resolution and motivating others
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to maintain and effectively support a complex array of projects
- Computer skills required including intermediate knowledge of Excel, fluency in social media, and professional email etiquette; Strong data management skills.
- Ability to function as an efficient, effective and adaptable team member displaying professional-level proficiencies in both technical and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge and understanding of AmeriCorps and federal grants
- Ability to perform work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to surrounding work environment and conditions that can change frequently
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow ACE systems and processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and be a positive, contributing member of a group.
Other Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
- Proficient in English
- Ability to pass a federal criminal background check
- Willing to abide by ACE Policy and Federal Drug Free workplace policies and laws. ACE reserves the right to drug test at any time

Physical Demands, Work Environment and Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talks and hears. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard/mouse and other routine office equipment. May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and/or crouch.
- Vision Requirements: Requires close, distance, peripheral and depth perception vision as well as the ability to focus.
- Weight Lifted or Force Exerted: Frequently moves up to 10 lbs., occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
- Environmental: Moderate noise such as in a business office with equipment and light traffic.
- Travel: This position requires limited domestic travel.
Compensation: Starting annualized salary range of $48,000.00-$55,000.00, based on experience (40 hours/week for 52-weeks), paid bi-weekly.

Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Time: As an ACE staff member, you will be eligible to accrue up to 80 hours of paid vacation time annually during your first two years of continuous employment, then it increases to 120 hours annually. Additionally, ACE observes 11 paid annual holidays and provides 10 days (or 80 hours) of paid sick time annually.
