Location:  Based in Flagstaff, AZ with some regional travel

Job Title: Provisions and Supplies Coordinator

Exemption Status: Exempt

Position Description: 

The Provision and Supplies Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of planning, purchasing, and providing meal provisions and consumable supplies for ACE crews working in the field.  Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitary provisions warehouse.

The Provisions and Supplies Coordinator will review posted crew schedules, identify specific dietary needs or restrictions of members of each crew and then develop a menu of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners that take into account these dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc.) and needs and provide suitable options for these members. Crews typically work an 8 day work schedule where these ingredients for these meals and associated supplies are provided to the crew in bulk all at once prior to the crew's departure.  This position is a full time, salary position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing nutritious meal plans that are applicable for up to 13 (8 person) crews based in spike camp situations
  • Purchasing bulk items and ingredients to facilitate these meal plans.
  • Packing these ingredients into coolers and bins to be delivered to the crews as they prepare to depart for up to 8 days of field work. 
  • Purchasing of other consumables and camp-related necessities, including first aid supplies, sun screen, paper products and cleaning supplies.
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitary provisions warehouse.
  • Manage safe, OSHA compatible storage protocols of perishable and non-perishable food.
  • Sort non-perishable food that is returned after projects and assure that coolers and bins are clean, hygienic, and maintained.
  • Maintain an inventory of camp supplies and purchase new items as needed.
  • Managing provisions warehouse during rig-up and de-rig procedures. 
  • Assisting Fleet and Facilities manage the tool shop along with other logistic activities.
  • Receive training in backcountry food handling and ensure training is received by all Crew Leaders.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • May be required to assist with field operations including delivering provision, supplies or materials to the field as well as other operations tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with Crew orientations
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to demonstrate prudent purchasing practices.
  •  Proficient with basic computer software (google docs, word, excel, etc)
  • Ability to create healthy, cost effective meal plans for crews
  • Ability to break meals into subsequent ingredients and estimate quantities to satisfy the planned meals.

 

    •  Ability to adapt to surrounding work conditions and schedules that may change frequently.

 

  • Must enforce the use of appropriate safety procedures in all tasks.
  • Over 21 years of age
  • Legally able to work in the US
  • A valid driver's license and insurable driving record 
  • Willing to undergo and must pass a federal criminal background check 
  • Willingness to abide by ACE Drug and Alcohol policy and Federal Drug Free Workplace laws

 

Compensation:  Full-time, salary starting at $36,568. We offer health, dental, vision and supplemental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, designated holidays, and 401k retirement for qualified employees.
