Job Title: 

Member Support Coordinator - ACE Southwest

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

The Member Support Coordinator will work closely with all staff members within the ACE Outreach Department, as well as ACE State Directors and Communication Departments. The Member Support Coordinator will be responsible for meeting the recruitment, housing, and AmeriCorps Member management needs of ACE's Southwest Division. The Coordinator's primary responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and orienting the AmeriCorps Members for the Southwest Division, as well as overseeing member housing, conducting AmeriCorps evaluations, and providing overall member support. The Member Support Coordinator will be frequently interacting with ACE's AmeriCorps Members and the general public and as such is expected to maintain a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to act as an ambassador of ACE's program and brand at all times. The Support Coordinator will need to be flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic while working in a fast-paced office environment. Leadership and forward-thinking are important assets in this position as the Outreach Department will continue to evolve.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Member Management

  • Recruit and support ACE Southwest Corps Members on an annual
  • Conduct interviews utilizing the standard recruitment protocol and screen candidates from all backgrounds
  • Administer and allocate slots for numerous AmeriCorps grants
  • Develop and maintain strong communication between ACE staff and all incoming and current Members
  • Conduct mid and end of term evaluations for all ACE SW AmeriCorps Members
  • Assist in managing Corps Member information in ACE's internal database
  • Respond to emergencies and facilitate medical care for sick or injured Members (including after hours)
  • Engage, oversee, and support Members during their off-days in Flagstaff
  • Assist other ACE staff to mentor and develop Corps Members into stewardship and leadership roles
  • Assist with AmeriCorps compliance and other enrollment duties
  • Network and develop partnerships with organizations/entities in the local community

Housing, Orientation, and Member Management

  • AmeriCorps Orientation: ensure full AmeriCorps Orientation is delivered to every new Corps Member in coordination with ACE staff and that Orientation follow up items are completed on time.
  • Lead ACE/AmeriCorps orientations, Safety and Leave No Trace trainings
  • Organize housing assignments for all ACE Arizona corps members across ACE housing units
  • Manage housing supervisors and coordinate and enforce house rules and cleaning routines to ensure a comfortable, accountable and hygienic living environment
  • Purchase housing supplies and keep housing units regularly stocked, and manage ACE's tent and uniform inventory
  • Organizing maintenance and repairs for all ACE Arizona housing units, also including management of contractors providing house maintenance such as: painting, repair, plumbing, landscaping, tree removal
  • Coordination of maintenance for all solar panel systems on ACE properties
  • Provide and oversee consistent and detailed housing orientations
  • AmeriCorps slot coordination: ensure consistent communication related to AmeriCorps slot types and usage for every AmeriCorps grant being utilized with the ACE Outreach Department
  • Member Management: ensure that all required Mid Term Evaluations and End of Term Evaluations are conducted with every member 
  • Timesheet Compliance: ensure that member timesheets are reviewed for accuracy and timesheet compliance in a timely fashion while working with AmeriCorps members to submit those sheets regularly
  • Volunteer Service Project coordination: ensure that all members are completing VSP requirement as listed in Member Service Agreement. Coordinate with community partners, develop new partnerships, and communicate opportunities with Corps Members on an ongoing basis

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Provide input and content assistance for ACE's ongoing website development and maintenance
  • Assist in field operations where appropriate for the improvement of ACE and the Member Support Coordinator position 
  • Provide support and mentorship to additional ACE conservation corps members as needed

Other Requirements:

  • Must maintain a positive, constructive and flexible work environment conducive to team dynamics
  • Must maintain optimal physical health, including a drug-free lifestyle
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must submit to a criminal background check prior to hire. Persons convicted of a felony are not eligible for appointment to this classification. This position is a covered position that may entail recurring access to vulnerable populations such as youth and the elderly. Selection for the position is contingent upon a review of all Criminal History results

Compensation:

Full-time, starting at $14/hour. Benefit eligible.
